Abbey Rogers Named MWC Scholar-Athlete

Abigail Rogers, an Academic All-District selection, was one of 506 student-athletes to be named to the Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete, the league announced this afternoon (June 23). Rogers, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., posted a 3.71 grade-point-average in behavioral sciences. It is the second consecutive season that Rogers has been honored by the MWC.

Abbey Rogers Named to Academic All-District Team

Junior Abigail Rogers was one of six Air Force athletes to be named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® University Division At-Large All-District VII Teams, as selected by CoSIDA and released May 22. Rogers received first-team status in the district and will be on the ballot for Academic All-America® status.

Air Force Hands Out End-Of-Season Team Awards

The Air Force women's gymnastics coaching staff handed out its 2008 program awards at the annual end-of-season banquet this past weekend. Junior Abigail Rogers, the co-Gymnast of the Year by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, was selected as the team MVP, while four other gymnasts received recognition from head coach Doug Day.

The Air Force women's gymnastics team had three of its members earn USAG All-America honors at the conclusion of the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships in Shreveport, La. Michelle Denise and Kayla Kincade were selected to the USAG All-America first-team, while Brittany Dutton picked up a pair of honors on the second-team. [+]

Falcons Finish Fourth in USAG Qualifying Round

The Air Force women's gymnastics team wrapped up team competition this afternoon (April 17) at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships in Shreveport, La. The Falcons scored a total of 188.600 to finish fourth in the first qualifying session, while two members of the team qualified for the individual event finals. [+]

The Air Force women's gymnastics team concludes the 2008 season this weekend (April 17-19) at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships in Shreveport, La. Doug Day Named North Central Region Coach of the Year

Air Force women's gymnastics coach Doug Day was named the North Central Regional Head Coach of the Year following the NCAA regional meet this past weekend. It is the first such honor for Day and the first women's coaching award since 2001. Day guided Academy gymnasts to a regional championship meet for the first time since 2005. [+]
