Air Force Trio Named to MWC Scholar-Athlete List

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three members of the Air Force volleyball team were named recipient of the Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete award, the league office announced on Monday, June 23. Senior Kim Kallabis claimed her fourth straight Scholar-Athlete award, while a pair of freshmen, Caroline Kurtz and Nichole Stilwell, each picked up their first.

Kallabis, who graduate in May with a double-major GPA of 3.71 in operations research and mathematics, became just the third Falcon in Academy history to claim academic all-conference honors all four years. Kurtz led the trio with a 3.91 GPA (undeclared major), while Stilwell collected a 3.55 average in mathematics.

To be eligible for selection student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
